The City of Haverhill is conducting a job search for a permanent director at the Haverhill Public Library. A job posting dated Nov. 6 indicates applications are being accepted until the position is filled.

The full-time position oversees approximately 25 full-time employees and 30 volunteers, and is responsible for supervision of department heads, division heads and office staff. The salary range is between $72,491 and $84,048 per year.

WHAV was the first to report library trustees would advertise the director’s position this fall. At the time, trustees named Sarah I. Moser as interim director, filling the position left by Carol Verny, who retired last July.

WHAV has contacted Haverhill Public Library interim Director Sarah Moser to ask if she plans to apply, but she was unavailable for comment.

Moser, of Newbury, joined the library during March, 2013. She previously worked at the Cambridge Public Library and Newburyport Public Library. Moser has a master’s from Tufts University and a master’s in Library Science from Simmons College.
Verny, of Newburyport, joined the library as director during January, 2009.
