Janet (Urbielonis) O’Meara, 72, of Groveland, died Monday evening, Nov. 10, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Haverhill, Sept. 9, 1942 daughter of the late Peter and Nellie (Kolodziej) Urbielonis. Educated in the Haverhill school system, O’Meara graduated from Haverhill High School and earned her beautician’s degree from Wilfred Academy, Boston. She began her career at Helen’s Beauty Salon, Haverhill. More recently she owned and operated Here and There Beauty Salon, Groveland for 47 years. Her exquisite taste was reflected in her home, a “bucket project” she managed to finish. Passers-by took notice of her beautiful gardens, of which she took great pride. An excellent cook, O’Meara perfected cake baking and her decorating skill was an art form. An accomplished horsewoman, Janet was an avid swimmer and loved to walk Groveland’s “scenic route.” She enjoyed entertaining her family, friends and customers, took great joy in her convertible, adored her cat “Lille” and her border collie “Bailey” and had a grand European adventure with her sister.
O’Meara is survived by her husband of 47 years, Francis O’Meara of Groveland, a son, Timothy O’Meara and his wife Julie of Haverhill, a daughter, Katherine O’Meara of Merrimac, three grandchildren, Aylah O’Meara, twins, Ayden and Abby O’Meara, a sister, Barbara Urbielonis of Pelham, N.H., aunts, Louise Petrush of North Carolina, Victoria Kolodziej of Pelham, N.H., Dottie Mills of Groveland, sister-in-law, Patricia Allen and her husband Keith of Rochester, NY, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Funeral Service will be Saturday morning, Nov. 15, at a time to be announced at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
