Eighth Shoe Sculture to Premiere in Spring

NECC art professor Marc Mannheimer with art students Adam Dorgan of Peabody and Jaclyn Marr of Salisbury stand with the blank shoe before they set to work creating an NECC specific design.

Team Haverhill says an eighth shoe sculpture bench will be added to this year’s Soles of Haverhill.

The sculpture, “Dancing on the Merrimack,” will be installed downtown next spring and was made possible by “a generous gift from Kayem Foods.”

“Huge thanks to Kayem, to the ‘crowd’ of donors, and to artists Emily Boulger and Sharon Silverman, for making this wonderful shoe possible!,” Team Haverhill announced.

Two other shoe benches from the original set will also be sited. The Fox Center shoe is indoors for adjustments and the Bradford Square shoe is still in progress, the group reported.
