Ida R. (Perocchi) Talarico, 91, Former IRS Supervisor

Ida R. (Perocchi) Talarico, 91, a former longtime resident of Forest Acres in the Bradford section, died Friday, Nov. 7, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.

Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, daughter of the late Donato and Concetta Perocchi, she graduated from Lawrence High School and was employed over twenty years at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, retiring as a supervisor. A member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Rita’s Parish, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, she also enjoyed being a member of the Haverhill chapter of The Red Hat Society.

Talarico was an avid reader who also enjoyed playing cards and knitting. While a former resident of West Palm Beach, Florida, for many years, she and her late husband enjoyed traveling all over the state taking part in competitive ballroom dancing. She also maintained her active lifestyle well into her later years with regular exercising and walking and was at onetime the oldest member of Choice Fitness in Haverhill.

The wife of the late Gregory J. Talarico, to whom she was married for 48 years at the time of his death in 1990, she is survived by two daughters, Joyce Montisanti of Atkinson and her longtime companion Harry E. French, and Donna Talarico of Haverhill and her companion Anthony DiVincenzo, three grand-daughters, Stacey Kirkham and her husband Brian, Lynn Sullivan and her companion Charles Gilbride, Wendy Burns and her companion Scott Pare, a grandson, James Ahearn, also members of the Jones Family, seven great-grandchildren Matthew and Nicholas Kirkham, Kayla, Ryan, Megan and Brenna Sullivan, and Liam Burns, several nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Tina Lacarubba. She was predeceased by her brothers Ralph, Charles, and Freddy Perocchi, and a sister Vera Tomaselli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her life celebration to be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will be Wed., Nov. 12, at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery Haverhill. Donations in her name may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mary Pearson of Plaistow for the many years of medical care, kindness and support extended to Mrs. Talarico.
