Gabino Rivas, 64

Gabino Rivas, 64, of Haverhill died Sunday morning, Nov. 2, at his residence.

He was born in Guatemala, October 25, 1950, son of the late Pilar and Torivia (Carrera) Rivas and was educated there. Rivas moved to the United States in 1981 and for more than 25 years was employed as a machinist for Astro Precision Machine, Salem, N.H. He was a soccer enthusiast and also enjoyed fishing. His survivors include his wife of 40 years, Maria (Arana) Rivas of Haverhill, a daughter, Lindsi and her husband Wally Vasquez of Haverhill, three sons, Willy Rivas of Haverhill, Nelson and his wife Cynthia Rivas of Salem, N.H., Milton Rivas of Derry, N.H., a step-son, Rudy Cabrera of Haverhill, siblings, Alejandro Rivas, Dolores Morales, Louis Rivas, Antonia Morales, Matias Morales and Angelica Morlaes all of Guatemala, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hour on Friday, Nov. 7 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday morning, Nov. 7, at 11in St. James Church, Haverhill. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
