Therese M. “Terry” (Paquette) Legare, 89

Therese M. “Terry” (Paquette) Legare, 89, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died on Oct.30, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.

Born in Boston, daughter of the late Charles and Bella L. (LaPlante) Paquette, she attended Haverhill public schools and Haverhill High School.

A housewife and homemaker for her husband and children, Lagare had also been employed in the local shoe industry and at Western Electric Co.

A member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, Legare was founding member of Saint John the Baptist Parish. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, TOPS and the Merrivale Square Dance Club.

She enjoyed camping, traveling across the country in her R.V. with her late husband, and most enjoyed spending time at their camp in Kezar Falls, Maine, on the shores of the Ossipee River.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Legare, and is survived by four sons, Thomas L. and his wife Virginia of Derry, N.H., Frank C.  and his wife Janice of Holden, Leo P. Legare and his fiancé Maryann Pascucci of Pelham, N.H., and William R. and his wife Diana of Derry, N.H., four daughters, Lisa M. of Epping, Virginia A. “Ginger” Iola and her husband Stephen of Salisbury, Bernadette M. of Winters, Calif., and Annette R. Bridgewater and her husband Glenn of West Newbury, 20 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invite to attend Legare’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, Nov 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. Her funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial service will take place in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
