Counterfeit Money Makes Way Into Haverhill

A Haverhill woman is charged by police after an investigation into the alleged use of counterfeit currency.

Haverhill Police report 44-year-old Ada Pabon of Haverhill was arrested on a warrant at 5 p.m., Monday, at police headquarters. She is charged with utter of a counterfeit note. She is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news, a Haverhill man is accused of using a forged check. Haverhill Police report 33-year-old David Arrigo of Haverhill was arrested at police headquarters at 1 p.m., Monday, as the result of an investigation. He is charged with forgery of a check, utter of a check, receiving stolen property under $250 and larceny under $250. No further details are available.

A traffic stop by Haverhill Police Monday leads to the arrest of a New Hampshire man wanted on burglary charges. Haverhill Police report 30-year-old Shawn C. Canney of Rochester, N.H. was charged with speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Canney was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, charging him with breaking and entering, and larceny under $250. The arrest occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m., Monday, at the intersection of Main and Primrose Streets. He is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

A Plaistow, N.H. man is facing assault charges in Haverhill District Court as the result a police investigation. Haverhill Police report 28-year-old Jake Councilman of Plaistow was arrested at police headquarters shortly before 3 p.m., Monday, on a warrant charging him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.
