Methuen Honors Dunkin on Retirement

Methuen police and city councilors this week honored a retiring member of the force, Dunkin, a K-9 officer.

Dunkin officially retires after seven years of dedicated service to the Methuen Police Department, said Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon. He made the news several times during his career, including attendance at the June burial of Max, a German shepherd who served in the Air Force from 2003 to 2007, at Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ Hillside Acre Animal Cemetery at Nevins Farm.

Dunkin attended with his handler, Officer Jeff Torrisi.
