John J. ‘Gus’ Augustonovich, 64, Musician

John J. “Gus” Augustonovich, 64, of Haverhill, died Sunday, Sept. 28, unexpectedly at his home.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, Joseph J. Augustonovich and Lillian (Baker) Augustonovich Dawkins. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill High School. He was employed as a laborer for Bresnahan Moving Company in Haverhill.
A talented musician, he played harmonica and guitar. A collector of coo coo clocks, always on the lookout, he found it hard to ever pass by a yard sale.

He leaves two sisters, Louise M. Ross, and Jean Diamontopolous and her husband, Michael, both of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank T. Augustonovich, Rose Newman, and Pauline Augustonovich.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (route125) Haverhill. Burial is private.
