Haverhill Library Announces October Events

The Haverhill Public Library is hosting a variety of events during October.

Free weekday movie matinees, Halloween classics. Most showings are Tuesday mornings at 10. For specific titles and show times visit haverhillpl.org under calendar of events.

Get Lit, meets Thursday Oct, 16, at 7 p.m., at the Barking Dog Ale House, 77 Washington St., Haverhill. The club will be discussing the book “Grasshopper Jungle” by Andrew Smith. The club is aimed at 20- and 30-something-year-olds.
Halloween-themed program, Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. The program focuses on myths, legends, ghost stories and all things Halloween with supernatural expert Jeff Belanger.

Concert with the Homegrown String Band, Sunday, Oct 26. at 2 p.m. Homegrown String Band is a family band that plays a mixture of traditional American music.

Halloween film screening of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” Monday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m. The film is called The film is a tale of an alien invasion, rated PG13.

An Alaskan travel tip session. The session includes travel experts offering tips on how to make the most of your trip to Alaska. The program takes place Tuesday, Oct 28,. at 7 p.m.
