Hospice House Marks Five Years in Haverhill

This year marks the five-year anniversary of the opening of Merrimack Valley Hospice House located in Haverhill.

According to a press release, more than 1,800 patients and their families have passed through their front doors receiving compassionate care and support in a peaceful and comfortable home-like setting.

“We are honored to provide specialized care and comfort to patients and to support families as they spend time with loved ones that is personal and meaningful,” said John G. Albert, president and CEO of Merrimack Valley Hospice. “It is our mission and commitment to ensure relief from pain, promote comfort, enhance quality of life, and foster dignified end-of-life care for all.”

The Merrimack Valley Hospice House is staffed with nurses certified in hospice and palliative care. They provide 24-hour care to patients in collaboration with a full hospice team including medical directors, chaplains, aides, social workers, counselors and volunteers. Merrimack Valley Hospice House is a program of Merrimack Valley Hospice. The service area includes 100 cities and towns of the Merrimack Valley, Northeastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and York Maine.
