Two men are being held pending court arraignment on drug-dealing charges, following their arrests last evening on Portland Street.
Haverhill Police report Hector Soto, 41, of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Felix Quintero Aguilar, 37, of Puerto Rico, were arrested at 7:30 p.m, Tuesday, at 73 Portland Street. Each is charged with distribution of a class A substance, conspiracy to violate drug laws and a school zone violation. They are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.
An investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time from Haverhill Police.
In other police news, Haverhill Police continued their warrant sweep efforts as another five city residents are taken into custody to face various charges in court. The five separate arrests occurred between 3:40 and 10:40 p.m., Tuesday. Charges range from operating an uninsured motor vehicle to larceny over $250 and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
