In Haverhill, the chilly mornings could be a signal for something hot to taste.

The Haverhill Fire Fighting Museum is sponsoring its eighth annual “Chili Cook-off,” the museum’s largest annual fundraiser, from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27. Individuals, firehouses and restaurants will stir up a variety of chili recipes to compete for prizes in their respective categories.

The event at the Fire Fighting Museum, 75 Kenoza Avenue, includes a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, children’s activities, desserts for sale and a beer and wine cash bar. Admission is $10 for adults, and children 5 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information, call (978) 835-1565.
