Police Conduct Traffic Stops Near School

Three Haverhill residents face unlicensed driving charges as police continue their stepped-up traffic enforcement efforts.

Haverhill Police report each motorist was arrested during separate traffic stops, Thursday on High Street, Winter Street and Oak Terrace near St. Joseph’s School. Two were charged with operation after license suspension. The traffic safety and awareness campaign by police coincides with the recent opening of public schools and young students returning to classes from summer vacation.

Another four people were also arrested by Haverhill Police Thursday during an evening warrant sweep. Charges range from a miscellaneous ordinance violation to larceny and assault. One of those arrested, 30-year-old Anthony Moschetto of Haverhill, was taken into custody under four warrants charging him with larceny over $250, utter of a false check, shoplifting and possession of a class B drug. That arrest occurred at 6 p.m., Thursday, on Baldwin Street.
