Elizabeth A. (Russell) Shirley, 71

Elizabeth A. (Russell) Shirley, 71, formerly of Haverhill passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 7 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

She was born in Lewiston, Maine May 23, 1943, daughter of the late George and Theo (Anderson) Russell.

Elizabeth graduate from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine, and Mount Ida College in Newton. She was employed for many years as a secretary at First Congregational Church, Haverhill, and later as a medical secretary with the Visiting Nurses of the North Shore. Elizabeth also volunteered at Sacred Hearts School for many years.

She was the wife of the late David B. Shirley Jr. and is survived by her daughter Lee-Ann and her husband Daniel Bergstrom of North Andover, her son Craig R. Shirley and his wife Kristen of Bradford, her four cherished grandchildren who meant the world to her, Brendon and Brian Shirley of Bradford and Kelsey and Karli Smith of North Andover.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125) Bradford. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Sacred Hearts School, 31 South Chestnut St. Bradford, MA 01835.
