Cathy R. (Mitchell) Allan, 74, Shoe Worker

Cathy R. (Mitchell) Allan, 74, of Haverhill, died Monday morning, Sept. 1, at her residence.

She was born in Saugus May 1, 1940, daughter of the late William and Muriel (Coburn) Mitchell and was educated in the Lynn school system. Mrs. Allan was employed for a period of time in the local shoe shops and also for the former Brush-Wellman Co. A Foster Mother for over 15 years, she enjoyed crocheting and playing her favorite game, Parcheesi. Mrs. Allan was a longtime active member and First Grade teacher at Haverhill Christian Academy, which, besides her family, was the center of her life.

She was the wife of the late Gordon F. Allan who died in 2012, mother of the late Kenneth Pelletier who died in 1972 and sister of the late Cheryl Girard, Robert Mitchell, John Mitchell, William Mitchell and Mary Ellen Mitchell. Her survivors include four daughters, Kim Allan, Brianna Allan and Kristina Allan all of Haverhill, Robin Dexter and her husband Kenneth of Lee, N.H., siblings, Kenneth and his wife Gerri Mitchell of Exeter, N.H., Richard and his wife Donna Mitchell of Lynn, Bonnie Dexter of Haverhill, Laurie and her husband Fred Turner of Chelmsford, Lorna Walters of Lynn, Tami Mitchell of Lynn, Patricia Dick of Minn., three grandchildren, Kaiden D. Butzien, Khymber E. Rose Allan and Alden A. Fuller as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11:00 to 12:30 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 12:30, Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
