NEWMARKET, N.H.–Curtis C. Bouchard, 80, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in Exeter Hospital.
Born in Haverhill, MA on March 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Cleo J. and Melvina (Vencis) Bouchard. He had resided in Haverhill, MA, Plaistow, NH, Old Saybrook, CT, Stratham, NH and Newmarket, NH.
Curtis owned Bouchard Construction for many years, designing and building homes with his son, Eric. He also raised Arabians on his breeding, training and show horse farm, Indian Hill Arabians. Curtis served as Vice-President and later President of the Arabian Horse Assoc. of New England. While living in CT, he owned in partnership Linda B’s Restaurant in Old Saybrook. A jack of all trades, he was also a master plumber and furniture maker.
He is survived by his six children, Debra Bouchard of Hampstead, NH, Patricia Towsley and her husband, Leo of Edgewater, FL, Eric Bouchard of Newfields, NH, Kellye Berg and her husband, Eric of Greenland, NH, Andrea Cabrera of Newark, DE and Michelle Denney and her husband, Derek of Greenwood, IN. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his brother, Robert Bouchard and his wife, Dale of Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, two former spouses, Nancy (Hackett) White of Edgewater, FL and Leslye (St. Pierre) Bouchard of Bensalem, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cathleen Bouchard and his son Curtis “Skip” Bouchard, Jr.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Haverhill, MA at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to The Meals on Wheels Assoc. of America. Arrangements are under the direction of Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill.
