Josephine Sheehan passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on August 18, 2014.
The daughter of the late Alfio and Alfia Russo, Sheehan was born on March 18, 1931.
She leaves behind her daughter Diana, her son-in-law Barry, granddaughters Katerina and Gabriella, brother-in-law Frank Distefano, her niece Marie Pimley, her husband William Pimley, and nephews Blase Distefano and Frank Distefano Jr. She was pre-deceased by her beloved daughter Kim Ann Sheehan and by her sister Mary Distefano.
Sheehan was educated in the Haverhill public school system. She worked for the Primrose Giant Value grocery chain, the former Hale Hospital and Lucent Technologies until her retirement. Josephine was a devoted daughter to her parents, becoming their primary caregiver at the end of their lives. Diana, Barry, Katerina and Gabriella were the pride and joy of her life. A warm and caring woman informed by a deep and abiding faith, Josephine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
At Sheehan’s request, her funeral services were private. Arrangements were by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
