Sandown Puts New Police Station Out to Bid

A “reconstruction project” for a new police station in the town of Sandown, N.H. is being put out to bid.

A request for proposals, or RFP, calls for converting an existing apartment building and former funeral home at 460 Main Street in Sandown into a police station, and utilize energy-saving equipment in the building project. Construction is anticipated to begin in November and be complete by the end of April, 2015.

The Town of Sandown has scheduled a mandatory pre-bid conference for prospective contractors at 5 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, at the project site.

Last March, voters at town meeting agreed to transfer $745,163 from the Police Station Capital Reserve Fund, created in 2010, and add $285,806 from general taxation to pay for the project.
