William S. Herman, 63

William S. Herman, 63, of Merrimac, died Tuesday evening, August 19, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.

He was born in Hackensack, N.J., November 3, 1950. For the past 33 years he was a beloved resident of Merrimac where he lived with his family. His survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Barrand) Herman of Merrimac, two sons, Eli and his wife Rebecca Herman of West Newbury, Michael and his wife Sara Herman of Peabody, a daughter, Jessica Herman of Lexington Park, Md., two brothers, Steve and his wife Judith Herman of Chapel Hill, N.C., Ben and his wife Sandi Herman of Ft. Collins, Colo., a sister, Beverly and her husband Ruben Rivera of Hawthorne, N.J., three grandchildren, Jack, Sam and Ismae, as well as several niece and nephews.

For more than 20 years he was employed at J.J. Vaccaro Construction Co., Somerville, where he retired as president. He was a longtime member and past president of Temple Emanu-El, Haverhill. Bill’s greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends, and producing fine furniture in his wood shop. A Memorial Observance will be held at his late residence following the committal through Sunday. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill & Bradford.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service today, Thursday, August 21, at 2:00 in Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St., Haverhill. Burial will be in Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill.
