Nicolasina (Vargas) Rosario, 90

Nicolasina (Vargas) Rosario, 90, of Haverhill, formerly of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, died Wednesday, August 13, at the Lawrence General Hospital after being stricken ill suddenly at home.

Born and educated in Santo Domingo, she was born Sept. 10, 1923 daughter of the late, Juan R. and Enedina (Garcia) Vargas. She and her late husband, Tomas immigrated to the United States in 1984 settling in Haverhill.

Her family was the center of her life as she was a homemaker. The widow of Toma Rosario who died in 2011, she leaves eight children; Zoila Rosario and her husband Jose, Maria Matias and her husband Ismael, Miguel Rosario and his wife Polinia, Pedro Rosario and his wife Christine, all of Haverhill, Tomas Rosario and his wife Altagracia, Felix Rosario, Jose Rosario and his wife Quenida, and Rafael Rosario and his wife Aracelis, all of the Dominican Republic; 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday (TODAY) from 3 until 6 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Route 125) Haverhill. Funeral services and burial will take place in the Dominican Republic.
