Mildred R. (Cipolla) Maguire, 91, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died on Sunday morning at her family home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Haverhill, on October 16, 1922 to Alessandro and Gilorma (Iannone) Cipolla, she was preceded in death by her husband John J. Maguire Jr.; brothers Carmino Cipolla, Alfred Cipolla and William Cipolla Sr.; and sisters Genevieve Cipolla, Evelyn (Cipolla) Harrington, and Lorraine (Early) McClennan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; life-long friends Lennie Campana, Margaret Eagar, and Gloria Senno; and dear friend Becky Giambaressi.
Educated in the Haverhill School System, Mrs. Maguire graduated from Haverhill High School and the Bryant McIntosh Business School in Lawrence.
She was employed at the Hamel Leather Co and later at the City of Haverhill Assessor’s Office. She was a member of the former St. Rita’s and St . George’s Parishes, and All Saints Parish.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014, 9 a.m. at the Rogers-Scatamacchia Funeral Home 334 Main Street, Haverhill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Parish at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 13 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to your favorite charity.
