Margaret M. (Coakley) Carifio, 94

Margaret M. (Coakley) Carifio, 94, a lifelong Bradford resident, died Thursday morning, Aug. 7, at Hannah Duston Healthcare, Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill, Sept. 6, 1919, the youngest daughter of the late Michael and Margaret M. (Sweeney) Coakley. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Carifio graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1938. She was employed for a period of time at the former Five and Dime Store, Haverhill. A lifelong parishioner of Sacred Hearts Church where she and her late husband were married, Mrs. Carifio took piano lessons for many years and became an accomplished pianist.

For nearly 50 years she was married to the late Luigi J. Carifio until his death in 1991 and her survivors include five children, James M. Carifio of Watertown, George M. Carifio of Haverhill, Michael G. Carifio and his wife, Melissa of Scarborough, Maine, Jean A. Comeau and her husband, Raymond of Belmont, Margaret T. Sawe and her husband, Ashok of Anna Maria, Fla.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carifio was the sister of the late Edward Coakley and sister-in-law of the late Mary Coakley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Sunday afternoon, August 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So., Main St., Bradford. Her Funeral will be Monday beginning at 9:00 at the Funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
