A first for the Haverhill Public Schools when it comes to annual school registration for new students. Haverhill school district officials are holding a six-day registration event and Back To School Fair beginning Monday morning at the Haverhill High School cafeteria. Evening registration hours will be available until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Back To School Fair will include information stations manned by various school administrators including Transportation, Guidance, Nursing, Special Education and Athletics. Student-led tours of the High School will also be held. Parents can also access sample test questions under the newly-adopted PARCC testing system, which will replace the MCAS system in anticipation of a state decision to replace that system next year.
While school registration is also available online, the process is not final until parents meet with district registration personnel. School officials encourage parents to register their children as soon as possible so class assignments can be made before the August 26 opening day of classes for most students.
