Christopher M. Drelich, 39

Christopher M. Drelich, 39, of Newbury and formerly of Haverhill, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22. He was born in Newburyport, January 22, 1975, son of Zbigniew J. “Zib” and Bonnie J. (Rand) Drelich.

Educated in the Haverhill school system, Chris graduated from Haverhill High School class of 1993 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1997. For the past 12 years he was the Choral Director at Governor’s Academy. Prior to this he served in the same capacity for the Pentucket Regional school system. He was the Music Director at Christ Church, Exeter, NH, Choir Director at West Newbury Congregational Church and also at the former People’s United Methodist Church, Bradford. Chris enjoyed collecting antiques, his local historical books, rebuilding antique pianos and was a member of the Newbury Historical Society. Besides his parents his survivors include his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Rand of Haverhill, uncle and aunt Clinton L. and Donna of Thornton, NH and several cousins.
