Richard K. Bazarian, 72, of Haverhill passed away Wednesday, July 23 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Watertown, July 25, 1941, son of the late Kegham and Josephine (Arakelian) Bazarian. Mr. Bazarian was educated in the Watertown school system and graduated from Watertown High School. He was employed at Verizon for 32 years until his retirement. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Yankee Division Band. Richard was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe and was the chairman of and sang in the choir there, served as commander and secretary for the Knights of Vartan Arakadz Lodge #35, served on the Parish Council at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, was a member of the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee of the Merrimack Valley and the Merrimack Valley Armenian Monument Committee.
Bazarian is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Charlene A. (Pelosi) Bazarian, a son, Craig R. and his wife Rosa Bazarian of Peabody, a daughter, JoAnn M. and her husband Jason Ryan of Hudson, NH, siblings, Charles and his wife Carol Bazarian of North Andover, Harvey and his wife Barbara Bazarian of Quechee, Vt., Carl Sr. and his wife Linda Bazarian of Amelia Island, Fla., MaryJo Bazarian Murray and her husband Sean of Uxbridge, a brother in law Frank Pelosi of Sandown, NH, a beloved aunt Margaret Bazarian of Watertown, three grandchildren, Nuno, Evan and Ryan Bazarian as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours Monday evening, July 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe / St. Gregory Church, 110 Main St., Haverhill. His funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, July 29, at 11 at the Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe, P.O.
