Mary E. (Daly) Doughty, 94, formerly of Haverhill passed away peacefully on July 15 at the Prescott House in North Andover.
She was born in Newburyport on April 10, 1920, daughter of the late Stephan and Ellen Daly. She retired from AT&T in 1982 after 26 years of service and she enjoyed life to the fullest. Mary and her husband moved to South Yarmouth in 1984 and after her husband passed away on Sept. 7, 1991 she moved back to Haverhill.
She leaves her daughter Marsha A. and her husband John B. Adams of Tewksbury, her son John Doughty, grandchildren Jeffrey Adams and his wife Paulette of Newton, Mass., Rebecca Lacefield of Merrimack, N.H. and Todd Doughty; great grandchildren Nicholas and Ana Marie Adams of Newton, and Amanda Lacefield of Merrimack; as well as her cousin and dearest friend Bobbie Gifford of Danvers.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Thursday July 17 from 4-6 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125) Bradford. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 6:15 p.m. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newburyport.
