Weather: ‘We Got Nailed Man’

A rain-soaked Wednesday with possible severe thunderstorms is in the forecast for the Merrimack Valley.

Flash flood advisories are in effect for the region until the evening. The first round of drenching rains swept through during Tuesday evening’s severe thunderstorms. Haverhill Police told WHAV no significant impacts were reported from that storm, only localized flash flooding on several streets.

“We got nailed man,” said WHAV contributor Marc Lemay. “I’ve driven in snowstorms that were easier to drive in than this rain.” Lemay reported street flooding on Winter Street and in the Bradford section of the city.

As of this morning, National Grid was reporting a number of power outages in Haverhill and Andover.

Elsewhere, some downed trees were reported in Andover. In a weather-related announcement, the town of Plaistow, N.H. summer recreation activities for Wednesday will be held at the Pollard School. Drop off and pick up will also be at the Pollard School in Plaistow.

Storm updates from Wave weather are heard every 30 minutes over WHAV.
