Construction of a new playground in Haverhill’s northwest corner is under way at the city-owned Tattersall Farm on North Broadway.
Workers have conducted grading and other preparations for equipment and amenities. Mayor James J. Fiorentini says he’s a very strong supporter for the active use of parks and playgrounds in every area of the city.
“I want the children in the west end of the city, upper Broadway, North Broadway, Hilldale, Ayers Village, to have what the children in every other area of the city have today—an active playground where their children can play and, yes, I want sidewalks so they can walk to them. Leave no area behind!” According to Fiorentini, future plans include a new set of sidewalks and street trees going up Broadway.
