Anthony James Pasquale, 97

Anthony James Pasquale, age 97, longtime Haverhill resident, passed peacefully Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Carmella (Morelli) Pasquale of Portland, Maine, who died in 1949, and Carrie (Francescone) Pasquale, who died in 1994.

Born in Haverhill, April 21, 1917, he was the eldest child of the late Sabatino and Josephine (Gulia) Pasquale and predeceased by his sisters Mary and Concetta and his brother Alfred.

An honorary,Êlifetime member of the Carpenters union, Mr. Pasquale was a successful building contractor, well known in New England. After many years supervising the building of schools and other commercial construction, he started his own business, Tyler Construction, in 1954 and retired in 1997, at the age of 80, whereupon the Haverhill Gazette ran a feature story on him titled “Mr. Construction.”

Mr. Pasquale was a daily communicant at St. James Parish in Haverhill, where, after his retirement, until age 95, he donated his expertise and many hours of loving labor for numerous building projects.

Those left behind to cherish him are his three sons, Anthony S. Pasquale and wife Heidi of Haverhill; Peter Pasquale and wife Jeannette of Groveland; and Michael Pasquale of Haverhill; Dana Pasquale; his two grandsons, Matthew and his wife Karen, and Andrew and his wife Molly; his two great-grand daughters, River and Sage; along with several nieces, nephews and very dear friends.

Mr. Pasquale was very devoted to family and had a heart of gold. He positively affected the lives of many people.

A period of visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at Paul C. Rogers-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, HaverhillÊfollowed by a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. at St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill.Ê Interment in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland, Maine, will be private for the family, as they celebrate the glorious reunion of Anthony with his beloved wife, Carmella, who died at the very tender age of 33. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Saint James Parish, 6 Cottage Road, Haverhill, MA 01830.
