Laura T. (Demers) Dellwo

Laura T. (Demers) Dellwo, 67 of Groveland, Mass. passed away June 28th at Chase Point, Bristol, ME, after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born in Mechanicville, NY, February 24, 1947 to Frank and Theresa Demers. She graduated from Lady Cliff College and married her sweetheart, Thomas Dellwo on July 27, 1969. Tom was killed in the Vietnam Conflict on March 15, 1971. Laura then centered her whole life around their one child, Susan and later her two grandchildren, Bailey Thomas, and Cait-Jolie.

Laura taught briefly in Choteau, MT and eventually settled in as a math teacher at Pentucket High School, West Newbury, MA. After retirement she enjoyed spending more time with her family, scrapbooking, trips to Plum Island, and her many friends. She is survived by her daughter Susan & her husband Jeff Chalmers, their daughters, as well as her brother Frank Demers & his wife Jeanne & family.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend the Monday daily Mass, July 7, 2014, at 9:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave. Haverhill which will be offered in her name. A Memorial service will be held July 7, 2014 at 11 o’clock at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill, MA, Father Murray officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society through 1-800-227-2345, cancer.org or mail to ACS, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
