Fireworks Take Place Tonight in Haverhill

The potential for rainy weather dampening local fourth of July celebrations has officials across the Merrimack Valley eyeing the forecasts, and some revising their original plans.

Haverhill

A late-breaking development, the scheduled fireworks display as part of Haverhill’s fourth of July celebration are on for tonight at 9:15 p.m. at Riverside Park behind the Trinity stadium, according to Haverhill Police, and according to the city of Haverhill’s website.  Haverhill’s Festival 2014 gets under way at 6 p.m., Thursday behind the stadium with music and entertainment.

The mayor’s office advises precautions if there are severe thunderstorms, do NOT go outside, and for Riverside and Bradford residents to watch to the extent you can from inside your home.

Methuen

Another late devlopment, the city of Methuen has announced its Fireworks Celebration scheduled for tonight will stay with its original schedule. Festivities at Nicholson Stadium will kick off at 6:30 p.m., and a musically coordinated fireworks program begins at 9:15 p.m.

Also, Methuen City Hall will close at 2 p.m., today, and will be closed on Friday, in honor of Independence Day.

Andover

Andover’s Fourth of July Events at this time remain as scheduled, according to the town’s website. Thursday’s fireworks display at Andover High School will be held at dusk. Friday’s Family Fun in The Park day by the Andover Firefighters Relief Association remains on schedule.
