Police, Fire Sponsor Fundraiser for Fire Victim

A fundraiser is being organized by both the Haverhill police and fire departments for the family of a woman who was seriously injured during last month’s Forest Acres Apartment building fire.

Christina Simoes is recovering from a back injury received after escaping the fire by jumping from a third story window with her toddler son in her arms.  The boy was not injured. As many as 24 apartments in two buildings were destroyed or heavily damaged in the blaze.

The day-long fundraiser for the Simoes family will be held on June 25th at Uno’s Pizza off Route 125 at the Haverhill-Plaistow state line.  Uno’s will donate up to 20% of the proceeds from orders that day which are accompanied by a special coupon.  The coupon needed to participate is available to print from the Haverhill Police-official Facebook page.  For more information or for a coupon call (978) 722-1548.
