An 18-year-old Haverhill woman died after her car crashed last night on Interstate 495 southbound, near exit 51.
Dasia Houtman, was traveling at about 9:55 p.m., in a 2004 Saturn Ion when, for reasons under investigation by Massachusetts State Police, her car left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Trooper Matthew Routhier. Houtman, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Haverhill Fire, MassDOT, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
