Haverhill Public Meetings: Week of Feb. 18

The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Tuesday, Feb. 19

Haverhill’s Board of Assessors, under the direction of Christine M. Webb, meets from 11 a.m.-noon in room 115 of City Hall, 4 Summer St. The group plans to review abatement applications, among other agenda items.

A technical assistance workshop sponsored by the Community Affairs Advisory Board is held between 5-7 p.m. at City Hall, room 301, for those interested in submitting an RFP for consideration.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

The Haverhill School Committee’s finance subgroup gathers at 8:30 a.m. in Superintendent Margaret Marotta’s City Hall office, room 206, to discuss the upcoming budget. The Policy subcommittee plans to meet later that morning at 9:30 a.m. to review the updated homeless policy.

A 7 p.m. Board of Appeals public hearing is held in room 202 of City Hall to hear John Cormier’s proposal for a variance on Amesbury Road ahead of residential construction.

Thursday, Feb. 21

Haverhill Public Library Board of Trustees members discuss staffing and other concerns during an 8:30 a.m. session at 99 Main St.

The Haverhill office of the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, 160 Main St., hosts the monthly meeting at 7 p.m. to delve into budgets for 2019 and 2020.
