Elaine M. (Villers) Allan, 89, of Haverhill, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley, Haverhill surrounded by her loving family. She was a 25-year employee of the city’s shoe industry. Calling hours take place Tuesday morning, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m.-noon at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by committal in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Baby Sunil Elias Beepath died Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA. Sunil was born Oct. 21, 2018, to Sunil B. Beepath and Elisa Espinal. Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 28 from 9-10:30 a.m. at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. A funeral mass to celebrate Sunil’s life will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. from Saint James Parish, 185 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial will take place at Saint James Cemetery.

Charles Osborne “Chucky” Burrill Jr., 59, died Jan. 25 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Born in Haverhill, he worked as a custodian at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport. Funeral services are private with arrangements under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

Donald “Joe” Hamel, 81, of Natick, died Jan. 16. A former Haverhill resident and graduate of Haverhill High School, Hamel worked as a civil engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation for over 30 years. Calling hours take place Wednesday Jan. 23 from 4-8 p.m. at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St., Natick. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Susan E. Spurling, 73, died unexpectedly with her family by her side on Jan. 22 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the wife of Atty. Dennis M. Spurling. Her career as a sixth-grade teacher in Haverhill spanned 41 years, with the majority of her tenure spent at John Greenleaf Whittier before she retired in 2008. Calling hours at the Dole, Childs & Shawn Funeral Home, 148 Main St., take place from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at Atkinson Congregational Church. A spring burial is expected at Maplewood North Parish Cemetery.
