Four Lawrence juveniles have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent Saturday home invasion in Methuen, Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon tells WHAV.

Police say a 15-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old forced their way into a Howe Street home Jan. 26 and allegedly assaulted a 72-year-old man and two cousins. Solomon confirms the incident began just after 3 p.m. when the suspects spotted the cousins—14- and 20-year-old males—on the street and charged at them. The cousins ran inside and closed the door, but the juveniles broke in and allegedly began hitting them.

The teens fled the home once another man, believed to be a relative, came out, Solomon said.

Three suspects were arrested outside the home while a fourth fled into the woods. Following a two-hour search by State Police and K-9 teams, the suspect turned himself into police shortly after 5 p.m.

All face a home invasion charge, with the 15- and 17-year-olds also charged with alleged assault and battery on a person over 60 and resisting arrest, Solomon told WHAV.
