A 33-year-old Plaistow, N.H., woman was arrested for alleged shoplifting Tuesday after attempting to evade Walmart security staff by riding away on her bicycle, police said.

Police responded to the Plaistow Road department store to find Krista Browning circling around the back of the store plaza in an effort to get away with $136 in random merchandise in her purse. “When loss prevention officers tried to stop her, she rode off on her bicycle and they followed but could not keep up,” Plaistow police spokesman Capt. Brett Morgan told WHAV.

Officers ultimately located Browning behind the Staples store and her bag—with the allegedly stolen merchandise inside—was found stashed behind a dumpster.

Taken into custody without incident, Browning was released on personal recognizance bail and next appears in court in February.
