The Merrimack Valley faces three to five inches of snow even before carving the Thanksgiving turkey.

WHAV meteorologist Rob Carolan says a winter storm warning is in effect, but snow will largely end tonight with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees.

“We’ll have scattered snow showers and flurries for Thanksgiving day,” he said.

A mix of rain and snow will develop Wednesday afternoon and become all snow with wind gusts up to 40 mph during the overnight hours. Local road crews will be out for snow removal and salting operations during the storm as last-minute holiday road travelers make their way to their Thanksgiving destinations. The latest storm details may be heard on Wave Weather, airing every 30 minutes.
